The Best and Worst Celebrity Super Bowl Commercials - Latest Celebrity News 2011

So, what the Super Bowl really means to America is: awesomely humorous -- and sometimes awfully failed --  $3 million-a-piece commercials.  Sometimes we find ourselves quoting them a decade later ("Bud-Wise-errr") and some brands have become recognizably known for their ongoing story lines: the E-trade baby, Danica Patrick sexing it up for GoDaddy! and CareerBuilder making fun of all of our workplace lives. Sometimes it's hard to remember what product the ads were trying to sell, but especially when the commercials involve our favorite celebrities, it's hard to forget them. We've collected and rated what we think are the five worst -- and five best -- celebrity Super Bowl commercials. Enjoy, with a cold brew and a bag of Doritos, of course!

The 5 Best Celebrity Super Bowl Commercials

5. Pepsi - "We Will Rock You" (2005)
Starring: Britney Spears, Beyonce Knowles, Pink and Enrique Iglesias
Back in the old age of 2005, when Britney, Beyonce and Pink rocked pop culture, this gladiator-style Pepsi spot was like an ode to their power. The singers, clad in full-on armor bikinis, stand in the middle of an old colloseum and unleash their distinguishable vocal chords in an aggressive rendition of "We Will Rock You." The "Roman" audience claps along while guest star Enrique Iglesias looks very initimidated with a Pepsi in hand. Guess these girls showed who was in charge of the empire -- for the time being.

4. Bud Light - "Jackie Moon TV" (2008)
Starring: Will FerrellIn this Pepsi spot, Will Ferrell embodies his character (a one-hit-wonder singer who buys a basketball team) from the screwball comedy, Semi-Pro. A "director" in the background calls "Cut!" over and over as Ferrell tries to think of slogans for Pepsi...but they are all more inappropriate, or weird than the last. Example: "Pepsi: Refreshes the palette -- and the loins." He finally settles on "Bud Light: Suck One!"

3. CBS - "Dave, Oprah and Jay" (2010)
Starring: David Letterman, Oprah and Jay Leno
Oprah, David Letterman and Jay Leno are sitting on the couch, each comedian looking bored and munching on chips.

Dave: "This is the worst Superbowl party ever."
Oprah: "Now Dave, be nice."
Jay: "He's just saying it because I'm here."
Dave (mocking voice): "He's just saying that because I'm here."

Oprah gives them an "I give up" sigh, and a banner ad for The Late Show with David Lettermanappears on the screen. We don't know how or why CBS endorsed this spot, but we support any commercial that stars these two predictably labeled enemies together.

2. Pepsi - "Two Kids with Cindy Crawford" (1991)
Starring: Cindy Crawford

Ah, old-school Cindy Crawford, we all fell in love with you alongside these two boys. Crawford, in a white tank and jean cutoff shorts, walks up to a vending machine and gulps down a Pepsi from the "New Look, Same Great Taste" can. Two young boys watch her in awe, and one of them says dreamily "It's beautiful..." We were thinking the same thing.

1. Snickers - "Betty White" (2010)
Starring: Betty White, Abe Vigoda

This 2010 Snickers commercial brought celebrity commercials to a whole new level of funny. Possibly the best-liked commercial of the year -- Betty White gets tackled by a bunch of football players and one of the dudes tells her "You're playing like Betty White out there!" Betty fights back: "That's not what your girlfriend says!" The girlfriend hands her a Snickers and she turns into a macho dude after eating it. Betty White, you've gone beyond yourself.

5. Pepsi - "The Joy of Pepsi" (2001)
Featuring: Britney Spears, Bob Dole

We don't mind this commercial until about the last two seconds. Britney Spears does her usual routine: she starts off in a Pepsi trucking uniform, strips it off to reveal ripped up jeans and a skimpy bra, and does her hot, fun, giggly dance segment. The camera zeroes in on men around the country salivating as they watch the video. And then at about 1:28, the video becomes a "worst" contender. Bob Dole, sitting in a chair with his barking dog next to him, gets, well, excited...and this was all around the time when the senator was endorsing Viagra.

4. Noxzema (1973)
Starring: Joe Namath, Farah Fawcett
OK, Farah Fawcett and Joe Namath are a very hot couple, and maybe we've been oversaturated with digital effects and streamline marketing skills, but this video is plain creepy. It starts out with a giddy Namath stating, "I'm so excited, I'm gonna get creamed," and then a sultry Fawcett lathers his skin in Noxzema cream. It was made over 35 years ago, but still..."cream your face?" We just don't get it.

3. Cash 4 Gold (2008)
Starring: Ed McMahon, MC Hammer

We lost the legendary Ed McMahon a year after this video, but it's a shame he devoted his precious time to this...infomercial? Unless he was in on a farcical joke that we just don't get, the TV announcer, alongside a randomly chosen MC Hammer, lists all the gold items he could sell for cash. "My gold cufflinks! My gold microphonoe! My gold golf clubs!" One highlight: "My gold hip replacement...goodbye old friend." This was during the peak of 2008's economic crash...

2. GoDaddy! - "Danica Patrick at Spa" (2010)
Starring: Danica Patrick, Heather Graham
Danica Patrick, you are the hottest car racing driver who has ever existed, but these ads have to go. Or get better. As Heather Graham gives her a massage, the movie star decides she wants to be a GoDaddy! girl too, and attempts an overdone and sort of lame striptease as an audition. And then falls in the pool. We hear GoDaddy! is doing a mock commercial of themselves this year. Good call.

1. Nationwide - "Rollin VIP" (2007)
Starring: Kevin Federline
Was this supposed to be K-Fed's kiss of death? He is seen draped in a fur coat and dripping in diamonds, surrounded by women. "Federline on the block rollin VIP...fat rocks I got em, shining like a super star top to bottom..." he raps very poorly. Then the camera shows him working at a fast-food joint getting yelled at by a manager to serve someone fries. "Life comes at you fast," the screen reads...so get good insurance, Nationwide is implying. This just makes us really sa
