Is it important to wear batik as student uniform? Of course it is. Batik is part of Indonesian ancient tradition. It is magic cloth. Batik patterns are more than a form of decoration. They are significant symbols that express various local identities for the people in the region.
If students wear batik at least once a week, it will be used to view and recognize the nation’s self made batik. It will also make Indonesian people appreciate batik as part of their culture.
In addition become more cleanly than wear-free. Wear-free not only identic with untidy up, but also show up. Students become more attached familiar differences without clothes.
Batik uniform is not only a tradition but it can become a valuable commodity, help revive Indonesia’s economy.
Considering some facts above, let’s make batik uniform become more popular in all age categories and countries:
1. Desire to preserve tradition and introduce more early batik as kindergarten uniform.
2. Government must publish an instruction that even school uniforms in Indonesia feature must subdued batik patterns,especially International Standard School (SBI) because one of International Standard School (SBI) duties is to present Indonesian culture.
3. Finally, when we have patent batik as our heritage and wear batik in Indonesia become a custom, we don’t need to worry about Malaysia will patent batik.
